The Unfortunate Tampering Of Aspects Of Olive Oil

By Rob Sutter

While I understand that it's done on a constant basis and that there's no changing the fact, I don't think that any organic product should be tampered with. I comprehend the reasoning to keep it fresh but part of me does not believe in the utilization of manmade products to make it happen. When it comes to the aspects of olive oil, my patter of thinking applies just as well. What I didn't know was just how many places took it upon themselves to alter the authenticity of the item.

It's clear that there are many a type of oil but the extra virgin variety is the one I'd like to refer to throughout this story. Not only is it the one that's viewed in the story but it's the purest one worth talking about. With so many healthful properties connected to this item, you have to wonder why anyone would want it to be impeded. Those who are heavily invested in this oil may not be too happy about the idea of it losing its organic properties.

With the shortage of such oil in the world, it seems like more places are trying to supplement for it. After reading an article on NBC News, it seems as though restaurants are diluting or mixing the aspects of olive oil with those of others like sunflower. This does nothing to help the benefits of the olive and instead impedes with additions that it did not exactly need in the long run. I think that authorities on the matter like Flavor Your Life would have something to say about this.

You're probably curious as to how to analyze oils on your own in order to find the one best suited for your needs. I think that if you're looking at the labels, you'll have a better chance of deciding on a choice because you have more specific traits outlined for you. What if there are no labels to be seen on these bottles? There are methods in which you will have to act and if you smell the oil in question, you can determine which ones work best, from fruitier variations to bitter ones.

There are a variety of scents that you can accept, whether it is fresh due to its fruity aroma or sweeter ones which are gentler by comparison. Regardless, the aspects of olive oil are ones that should not be altered because those are the ways that they came about. They should not be changed around because of manmade properties to supposedly make them better. If anything, they do more to take away what people enjoy about this type of oil to begin with.
