It's obvious that if you're going to bring a vehicle, you got places where you can put food, regardless of weight. However, if you're going to walk on foot to your camping destination then you would want to consider bringing something light.

Provided that you'll be using a vehicle to get to the campsite, you can bring foods that can be stored in a cooler such as potatoes or corn on the cob. It is really advantageous if you bring a cooler in the event you're using a vehicle.

Among those food items that you can bring in your camp, corn on the cob stands out as a favorite. You can actually cook this food stuff easily either on the campfire or on the grill. However, be sure not to put it on the fire directly as it can easily be burnt. When you think they're ready, just peel back a bit of the husk test for tenderness. If they're ready, you can sprinkle with pepper and salt or smother with butter to make it more tasty.

Potatoes are an excellent food to take with you on your camping trip. You will find that this sort of food can be prepared in dozen of ways. One of the easiest way to cook it is by simply putting in the hot coals after wrapping it with tinfoil. The cook very easily that way, and all you have to do is remove them from the coals, slid open the tinfoil, and you have a ready-made meal.

One more food stuff you can bring in your camping trip are beans. It's easy to boil water over a campfire, and with the right equipment such as a cast iron pot, you can easily prepare them right there. Consequently, you can also prepared your potato in advance before bringing them in the camping trip. If you need to consume your prepared food, you can simply reheat them in plastic over boiling water.

Thus, you will need to prepare your food in advance if you're planning to camp out. As you prepare your food, you can consider having them frozen to preserve the foods' freshness and taste.
