What To Know About Halal Rations

The Islamic law offers guidelines on the quantity of meals that its followers are permitted to consume. In addition to that, it also advises its believers on the lawful slaughter of animals in particular poultry and beef. The law is compulsory for every Muslim and it dictates the halal rations to be followed by everyone as enshrined in the Islamic teachings.

Just like Christian have the Bible to guide them, Muslims have their Quran. Pork has to room in the Muslim diets, it is regarded as unclean meat and it should not be eaten. When an animal dies believers are prohibited from slaughtering it and consuming the meat. By the same token, all animal blood drained after a slaughter ought to be thrown out because it is unlawful for Muslims to eat or drink it.

There is only one approved method for slaughtering animals in the Islamic law; the cutting of the jugular vein and allowing blood to fully drain. The drained blood should then be disposed off. Butcheries that abide by these rules are given a certification by the relevant authorities to sell their products to Muslims.

Believers are required to eat a main course everyday and some complementary foods that will all fall in line with the recommended nutritional requirements. This does not mean that the food is insufficient to sustain the individual. Afterwards, the meals are properly packed in hygienic bags that come with napkins, utensils and flavors or spices. This ration is made to last for a long durations depending on the weather and conditions they are kept in.

The packed foods are processed in a way that they can be eaten straight from the shelf. Some people prefer to heat the food without opening the packet while others like to re-cook the meal. The package material is securely wrapped so that it does not break when immersed in boiling water.

Store owners and food manufacturing companies need to ensure that the ration is properly labeled according to their nutritional composition. Consumers on the other hand ought to check the contents of each pack so that they eat a meal that has a nutritional balance. To be on the safe side and in line with Islamic laws, the buyers must ascertain that all contents on the packs are genuine and complement the true ingredients of the meal.

If the buyer is satisfied with the content of the food, the next step is to assess the expiry date and shelf life of the product. Rations are processed to enable them to stay for many days on shelves without going bad. They can have a span of three to ten months depending on the condition they are in. Goods past their expiry dates may be risky for human consumption.

Halal rations now a days are being processed by a lot of companies as they see it as an emerging product in the market. The best market for these products is the military because most armies offer their diverse members just one uniform meal; this can infringe on the rights of many especially Muslims. However, halal foods have made sure that Muslims in the army still follow the Islamic guidelines and at the same time get good and proper nutrition while in the line of duty.
