Read on in this article to see a sample of some of the places you need to go to get a good and tasty slice of the best pizza in Berkeley.

One of the more popular areas in Berkeley is a place called Cheeseboard Pizza. This place has a strong following and regular clientele, who attest to their flavorful creations on a daily basis. That is because they only offer one flavor per day, so you will never know what you will get. However, their pies do come in vegetarian and non vegetarian flavors. It is also only fifteen minutes by foot from Cal University.

Zachary's Chicago Pizza also offers pie offerings to the Berkeley community either in deep dish or thin crust styles. They also serve a variety of stuffed pizzas. Due to the popularity of the place, it can get quite crowded and you may have to wait a while for a seat. Most however will tell you the wait is well worth it.

Emilia's Pizzeria is a one man place that has been getting raves across the town. This is not a sit down place for you to eat, as most will have to order by phone or just go there and have a takeout by slice or by pie. They specialize in New York style deep dish and thin crust styles. One of the other things going for this place is that service is prompt and to the minute.

Gioia is one of those pizzerias that are recommended for vegans and veggie lovers. Many attest to the goodness and unique taste of their funghi flavor, most with ingredients using mushrooms of the wild and cultivated kind. Gioia is literally translated as joy, so perhaps you will get some joy by trying out their delicacies.

Silver is a jazz and pizzeria bar that rotates their menu once every two weeks. This ensures that you get varieties in your toppings and you will not get sick of the menu. The pie is really good and the place is getting popular for big groups and meetings, as the price is fairly reasonable for a whole pie.

Those looking for more of an upscale Italian environment will not be disappointed if they go to Lo Cocos. You have to go early as parking is a bit difficult in the neighborhood. Apart from the many pastas and antipastas on offer, they do offer some good tasting pizza. One of their more popular creations is the number seven on their menu, more affectionately called the Sorrento.

Should you be really intent on finding the best pizza in Berkeley, this list can only do so much. In fact many other places offer a lot of Italian goodness in the city. So it is also recommended that you not only restrict yourself to the recommendations in this article, but go out and start your great pie hunt adventure and try as many others as possible.
